.: I've been wolrking on getting contractors to make bids for the art shed, kitchen floor, and other things. One majjor thing is the AC in the bright side is serviced with one unit. No AC service in the garden of eden area, which is why it gets so hot. Working on addressing this to reduce the radiant heat, especially in the summer. We've reduced the number of our bank accounts from 25 to 1. Corey and I have been transfering our data to the new wiki

Agenda Item 1
(David and Corey) talk about the budget for Sasona
Corey: Budget has been pretty healthy this year. We expect to be able to reduce rent by some amount. Eliminating $1,000 for pormits. Gas is up a bit. $2,700 overall decrease. Food has been a significant concern. I've created 2 different budgets: 1 that's increased by $100, one that stays the same. Utilities haven't decreased, we just didn't have a major water leak this year.
Fay: $25 a month doesn't seem like enough
Mae: We've gotten by wuth $35 a month so far, but future tree care costs are a concern.
Matthias: Tree care comes out of maintenance budget
Bailey: I love the idea of a rent decrease. It would help me out a lot.
Carina: I also like the rent decrease.
Alice: I'm also in favor
Matthias: I think our current food budget is adequate
Rowan: I'm hesitant about what the events budget is
We voted an the labor holiday date. It's hard for everyone to be there at the same date. I propose eliminating the events budget
May: I've noticed that we've been running out of food that we normally have, and so wo should work on our shopping
Matthias: I'm still in favor of keeping the evnts budget because it wouldn't significantly ruduce our rent, and it would benefit our outreach
Fay: It does seem like we run out of certain foods a lot. I'm in favor of an increased food budget
Alice: I'm in favor of eliminating the events and putting the money towards food
Mattheas: I feel we could be putting more effert towards house events
Bailey: We could be more deliberate about our food purchases as a way to addross the food budget
David: Some food shoppers over time have been more efficient about purchasing than others. I want to support the events budget. Our events are important ways to connect us as a community
David M*: The reason why Corey put the events budget in is so that those funds wouldn't be misallocated, as has happened in the past
Jesse: I'd be more in favor of a percentage-based rent decrease vs. a flat rate
Mattheas: A percentage-based would make the decreases unequal
Rowan: I'm for a percentage-based
Matthias: Motion to pass a budget: food budget staying as is at $1,500, a $150 events, and a 1.25% rent decrease annually. Jesse seconded
Budget passes unaimously
Bailey: People have been saying that we should change our buying habits. rather than we don't have oneugh money in the food budget
Matthias: I'm for the percentage-based budget, because some people are very much for it, and I want to pass a budget tonight
Agenda Item 2
(Alice) hostility on slack
Alice: I think we need to have some moderators on Slack because conwersations have been getting intense
Matthias: We shoulxd have a channel for complaints
David Q: Our lines of communication have been constrained. We've never limited slack in the past. Slack is the only way that some people communicate on Slack. I don't think have gotten too out of hand on Slack, and I'm for freedom of speech. All the other communication channels have been closed down. I don't feel like we should
Alice: I disagree about complaints channel. It will be bad. We do need space for discussion. But slack is being used as a crutch. these conversations should be in person. It then tends to be more civil if in person. try to tamper down the hostility.
Fay: Im not ok with hostility on slack. Its because its a screen. If they were said in person, i would seen mediaition. We should have group conversations (in person). Im not sure what you mean (David Q) about not having an outlet. I'll just get off of slack, if its not moderated (what ive considered).
Matthias: You brought up this topic (Alice), but you have brought up things on slack in a peircing way. In my experience, a lot of this has come from you (Alice). We all are trying to do the best. How we treat each other on slack, is as important as in person. Finding a happy medium. On slack, everyone hears it.
Rowan: it don't think slack is the place for things, like bitch and moan. Its attacks on someones character.
David Quick: Our community is tired of festered. I have been misdirected and stopped from communicating to others. After a year, i finally was able to get mediation with Alice. I have been cut off completely. If you ask if im mad, A YEAR. The people in queston, have not allowed me to speak. I have been subjected to what im being accused of. This is not anger, it richouse indignation. Shall we now cut off our nose to spite our face. Im believe in the freedom of speech. Thank you for listening.
Alice: Im not sure what the holdup was on mediation. Im fully aware that i was part of the issue. I was frustrated that things like peanut butter, etc. I got a bit overheated.
Mae: Since email started, its hard to know how you come across. I think slack should stay around. go to the person in quesiton first. then go to mediation.
Fay: Most of the issues are when there isn't a direct person to direct to, then everyone feels attacked.
