Archivist:

1) Went back through the archives and old calendars and found the scheduled dates of officer elections! Here is the calendar based on the helpful notifications in the Labor Czar calendar and historical records. Due to the high turnover in officer roles it has been hard to keep track of who was elected when and when elections should be held, so I am going to put an item on the meeting agenda for next week that:

Motion: To hold office elections in the designated month according to the schedule below regardless of the election date of the current officer holder (i.e. if officer was elected to fill a vacant position).

(2) Reviewed past emails and found that Kyle and David M. might be able to help use AI tools to crosscheck the new wiki with the old and fill in the gaps for the public facing wiki.

(3) Continued working on reformatting wiki pages for readability.

Upcoming projects:

(1) Pursue wiki checking (see item 2 above)

(2) Check in with labor czars about election schedule meeting motion

(3) Connect with Memco (Brigid) about increasing visibility online for recruiting new members to fill our three empty rooms.

Alex food shopper nothing much to report. Let him know if there is something we desperately need. Question about zimpls green, Justin said that might be an order from kitchen kaiser.

Kyle - labor - summarizing email that was sent - Thursday one shopper, DJ will get a 4 lumper if no one signs up. Ryland nominates themselves for minutes taker. Mastodon overblower position will come up for reelection. Labor holiday - partial credit given to those who participated. A month of makeup before it becomes fines. Set date in the future.

David - ops manager - kitchen hopefully Monday we get another quote for plumbing, got some money taken off foundation. Once estimate for plumbing is in, rhino renovation will be brought in, looking to start two mondays hopefully, also hopefully will only take a week. Be ready to operate in a new spot for kitchen. Once everything is set to date, communication will be sent out. Board meeting this thursday at sasona 7pm in person.

Bailey - will expressed an interest as minutes taker so he’s trying it out (and kicking ass!) usually we don’t have much interest in minutes taking. It’s a 2 lump role. Could collaborate between people, will be 1 lump each. Talking to ruth asking questions, appreciative to have her as a resource. Could help with kitchen remodel. Been supporting brigid who wears many hats.

Justin - kitchen floor replacement plan, who has read the email (one person), who has received the email (everyone present), justin read email to the meeting. Report for bookkeeper, zelle deposits and lockbox-CJ DJ and Ryland have paid no rent. Business list only reaching part of the house. Does not feel comfortable with one-to-one conversations about rent. Three separate emails have been sent out. Mastodon overblower is responsible for getting people on list, hasn’t happen.

David m-concerned about room 6 considering vacancies, if the room is rentable, consider next years rent raise. Maybe a discount is given during remodel. Concerned about lost rent revenue.
Justin-we do need to vote on using room 6, if at all. brigid did express preference for darkside to be used.
Eevee-incurring a lot of expenses this year. Might be more ideal to use room 6 for storage, but missed income is a concern. Two months of income possibly.
Bailey-don’t know how to advertise the room in a way that doesn’t sound like tricking someone due to remodel.
David q-talking about a temporary situation, it’s empty now, so could be used or come up with a plan a and plan b if someone expresses interest. Let the room sell itself.
Kyle-as a applicant the kitchen remodel was expressed and i appreciated the transparency, i was able to make choices based on the information given.

David m-if other rooms are rented and this one stays open, no problem, but if someone expresses interest in room6 that was the contention. Labor also a concern.
David q-if we come up with plans to make up for lost money, proper planning could take care of it, programs have been used before to raise funds. Much more energy to put items in darkside rather than room 6.
Jessi-motion to use room 6 for the duration of the kitchen remodel.
Bailey suggests amendment give the house permission to temporarily use room 6 for the kitchen remodel. If someone wants to rent it out, perhaps we vote again.

Discussion item from justin-vacant room concerns-150-200 dollar increase in rent for everyone if three rooms stay empty. A room empty for a month is not a huge concern, but we are already at a $100 increase from empty rooms up to this point.
David q-should start making plans for programs to make up this loss of income. Maybe we can all get together with brigid, discuss with memco and form committee to plan programs and activate people. She is busy as is unless someone else want to take it on.
Jessi - i sent a response to brigid earlier based on email sent out by brigid. This is a multifaceted issue. Curb appeal, food when guests are present, how meetings are handled when guests are present. We need to get people on board because some of us are burnt out . 6 lumps is not normal.
David m-appreciates what jessi says, two potential things that could be affecting it. Ebbs and flows as to who shows up to sunday meetings. Talking with brigid, lots of people show up for one dinner, but not two. People are definitely showing up. Perhaps trash mountain? Curb appeal? People show up wanting to live in a nice place and in a community with systems that work. What can we do so that we don’t have this vacancy rate?
Eevee-it would be well worth our while to have meetings if this is going to be $1000s of dollars to have to deal with. May want to put up flyers to gather folks to meet.
Bailey-having long conversations with people about this, people that have been here are tired, 6 lumps for a year, it’s exhausting. It’s a lot of strain. Bad energy was evident at my first meeting, but bailey spade approached , and this is how we got brigid. Membership coordinator can help do this. As a group we need to pitch in to make this look fun.
Jessi-thinking about bigger picture/impact how our actions affect people, back in april it was heard that we were chasing perspectives off. Always encouraging, accepting, open membership, pushing associate to see what it is like.
Kyle - it might be a blessing that we had a few van people show up, have marketed to van life before. In terms of vibe, i wonder if the vibe is naturally going to pull people in , would be happy to offer some fun workshop where we practice hard conversations.
David q-we talk a good game, everyone is tired. Thanks aren’t happening. Suggested a committee. We need things to happen, we must go through it when people are tired, needs to happen right away. It’s the reason for the heart meetings, cooking together. We have to be able to get together to do it. Wanted to hold off on bringing people in during situation with sean. We have to get used that we are landlords and tenants.
