**Zoey: I’ve spent time in a few co-ops, I’ve had partners who live in co-ops. I enjoy the camaraderie, and making food for people, and labor holidays. I think it’s a fun vibe and a fun way to live. It meshes with me as a person. **

**Alex: Food shopper: Not much to report, but it appears that Nick, who was my HEB shopper buddy, is not going to fulfill this role anymore, so the role is available if anyone is interested. **

**Brigid: Maintenance: Labor holiday plans coming maybe tomorrow. Also tomorrow I will be posting reminders on doors about the fire alarm inspection which is Tuesday May 5th at 2pm. I will be entering rooms. I am going to fix the washing machine leak but not right now. **

**David: I think Justin wants the labor holiday to be kitchen heavy. **

**Brigid: Yes! Thank you. **

**Eevee: Treasurer: Discussion item: Discussing rent rates, I’d like to discuss with everyone in the house when possible, I was wishing more people would be here tonight. **

**Grounds coordinator: my mosquito traps have done a decent job. **

**Bailey: Memco: We have three rooms open right now, since we just got Kyle. Alice is going to move into room 11, then her room (number 2) will be open. Nicky is no longer an associate as of Friday, May 1st. So we’re looking for a labor czar. **

**Steward: I think Nicky’s putting out a labor schedule for the upcoming week. I’ll need to figure that out before tomorrow. After that I think I’ll still be on 7 lumps. I’ll be on memco, steward, brunch, CHEA rep. But I believe we will be able to count the ballots for memco today, hopefully, so I won’t be at 9 lumps next week. I’m also doing labor czar next week, so if anyone wants to help me that would be welcome. **

**CHEA rep: We are figuring out budgets. We are figuring out some ideas for rent distribution and a full house budget discussion will happen later, not sure when at this time. **

**Eevee: If those who are interested would please join me in the living room for a short presentation on rent rates. So this is a mixture of David M’s and my work. We have added something called a commons correction factor, which weights rent rates based on how much we value living at Sasona, vs the value of our individual rooms. The weight of this factor is what we are here to discuss. Over time, we have two options to increase rent each year- percentage (favors small rooms) or flat increase (favors large rooms). Over time, we have favored large rooms, which has made them significantly cheaper per square foot than the smaller rooms. Just as a heat check to those participating today, any thoughts so far? **

**Bailey: I saw the draft of this as it progressed, and these numbers look a lot more digestible. Before the numbers showed up to a $500 increase for some other larger rooms. I notice Justin’s room goes up the most, I wonder how how would feel about that.**

**Brigid: I spoke with Justin last week about this and he seemed potentially ok with the price increase of his room. **

**DJ: What would the rent be for rooms that can accommodate two people? **

**Bailey: Doubles are an additional $150 for people over the age of 16. When we had a 9 year old living here it was an additional $100. **

**Eevee: One thing to add as a personal conflict of interest- for every plan, including mine and David's, my proposed rent rate does go down. It isn’t substantial, but I want to point it out. **

**Alex: I’m seeing decreased rent for me so I think it’s pretty great. **

**DJ: I’d vote for this. **

**Eevee: yeah, DJ’s goes down, and Brigid’s. Without the corrections factor that brings Brigid’s down, it would be about $400 based on square feet alone. David suggested changing the CC factor based on rooms and their desirability, but I feel this is a slippery slope and it’s best to leave this at 10 for each room. I think leaving things as hard, countable amenities is the best option. **

**Brigid: I agree rather than change the CC factor, keep a better itemized list of each amenity and maybe negatives about the rooms. Is the exterior door in Vic’s old room considered an amenity? **

**Eevee: No, not currently. **

**Bailey: I think rooms with exterior doors should definitely be a consideration for amenities. **

**Alex: I think some amenities would be more heavily weighted than others. For example, fans and A/C. **

**Eevee: It’s weighted based on the numbers I originally gave David. This is all potential to change. I typed in what landlords charge for these amenities. Google gave a range, and I used the lowest possible rate. For a fan it’s like $5-15 a month, An A/C is $25. A closet is $25. A walk in closet is $50. Windows are $2-3 each. Loft is $15-25. Jack and Jill baths are $75. I would argue for rent increases by percentage going forward. Flat fee increases feel more equitable in the moment, but I think the percentage actually would be. I’m going to do some measurements in my own room and see how the increase would measure up with my square feet, just as a test. **

**Brigid: I like it. **
