I didn’t even know my Associateship was being called into question. TLDR:He didn't pay rent in Jan 2024Paid rent with an additional $100 in FebWas prorated Mar rent for $196.68 which wasn't paid.Got assessed a $10 late fee in Mar for Balance being above threshold for overdue amounts.We then wrote off his security Deposit that was on file and applied it to his outstanding balance.Total balance still owed on the LaRe side $332.68.Treasurer

+Jessi: Didn’t pay January rent, or March prorated rent, or late fee. It was $800 and change, but \\ $500 was taken out of his deposit. $300 something owed now. I told the board McAllen plans \\ to appeal. I told them we need you on a payment plan + can’t sign residence. Talked to \\ different people and they said different things as far as how to move forward. Generally they \\ said McAllen should continue associate but shouldn’t do residency.

+Matthias: I feel extending his associate would be okay with me. Amount due could be paid off \\ over time if money is a restraint. Board can decide residency. House should decide now if \\ McAllen can renew his associate. The board will discuss in a few weeks. \\ Mae: I motion to approve McAllen for a renewed associate contract after he pays the past due \\ money. Alice seconds.

+Matthias: If McAllen didn’t sign a contract today, waited until the board meets in a couple \\ weeks, there’d be a gap. If he signs today, he would be continuing his membership. If he’s \\ willing to pay today, the board probably won’t do anything. If it’s paid it’s paid.

+Kaycie: I think that Lucero has a lot to offer the house as a member, and that we should approve her dog to move in w/her.
+Jesse: Every time there's a change in residency, there's a change in culture. I think the meet & greet w/Lucero's dog should be closer to her move-in date. A dog counts as two cats regarding membership.
+Fay: I don't think our policies regarding meet & greets and how to enforce them are very clear. This has resulted in problems, for example, some ppl's pets going to the bathroom everywhere, and nobody takes responsibility for these issues. We haven't had a chance to really work through these issues as a house. We're working on the flea infestation right now, which will hopefully be resolved by the time Lucero moves in.
+Rowan: I think we need more clarity regarding pet expectations and whether they are being met. The consequences caused by the lack of thins clarity has caused me to consider moving out Jesse: I don't want this issue to cause us to give you a hard "no" regarding your pet. I hope that our "dirty laundry" (discussing unpleasant details)from the past on this issue has scared you away from wanting to be a member. Lucero. That's OK. I'm not in a big rush to move in; and I understand that y'all need to heal right now.
+Mae: It was pretty rough with A recent members' dog, Charlie, FYI. SO yes' we do need to heal. Our emotional health is important in this regard.
+Alice: Our issues with animals was largely a product of their owners' lack of proper handling of problems that arose with the animals, more-so that the animals themselves
+Fay: It might be a good idea to submit your dog's vet health records to the house. That would help ensure that it gets along well with other animals in the house

+Jessi: Ella is asking for a pause to her associate membership because she'll be traveling for a while. My idea is that rather than taking her completely off the labor schedule, put her on other labor like maintenance or grounds, in order to avoid weird bookkeeping issues

+Alice: I've seen an improvement in meal quality over the past couple of weeks. So long as ppl are meeting basic nutrition requirements, I think that is sufficient. I don't always spend the full 4 hours to make my meals. I think the issue comes down more to efficiency

+Rowan: I don't think we should be keeping such close track of how long ppl are spending on their meals. It's nice having delicious, unique meals instead of just beans and rice. Could we do anything as a house to assist the cooks, such as flex kitchen cleaning or bulk food prep, etc. I think that cooks should be spending a sufficient amount of time on prep, but that we shouldn't be so strict on their spending exactly 2 hours if it doesn't always necessarily need to take that long

+Matthias: I used to notice past instances in which cooks would spend no more than 2 hours making meals that they got 4 lumps credit for. I think that if you're assigned 4 lumps for that task, then you should generally put in a good 4 lumps worth of effort to make sure it's done well. That's the proper ethical standard that I see for this issue.

+Alice: I think that a real issue that needs to be addressed is insufficient quantity of food. Another one is occasional lateness–some meals being put out at 8:45 for example.
